La Creole Beach Hotel & Spa is set in the lively town of Le Gosier in Guadeloupe. It has all the amenities that you would expect of a 4-star Caribbean resort, and then some. We were fortunate enough to spend two nights at the property and took advantage of all it had to offer!
As we walked into the large, open-air lobby, live jazz music softly swirled around us. We went to the check-in counter and we greeted by an extremely friendly front desk agent, who personally guided us to our ocean view room.
The bedroom consisted of mostly white and wooden furniture, with pops of teal and orange accents throughout. The bathroom was large, modern and clean, and the shower was heavenly! The balcony allowed us to look out over the hotel gardens and to the ocean beyond. It was a stunning view to say the least.
About five minutes after settling into the room, there was a knock on the door. I opened it to find an employee holding a large plate of freshly cut tropical fruits. He set it on our dresser as a welcome offering, and we were very impressed.
That night, we headed out to a strip of restaurants, located within a 7 minute walk of the hotel and right across the street from a casino. We had a delicious dinner at an authentic Creole restaurant and tasted conch dishes prepared in different styles. We also tried the local cocktail, ti punch, which is rum mixed with sugar cane and lime. It definitely packs a punch!
We turned in for the night in one of the most comfortable king-sized beds that I’ve ever slept in. Waking up to the beautiful views of the ocean was everything that I could wish for on a vacation. The hotel offers a complimentary buffet breakfast daily, so we took advantage of it in the morning. A line chef is there preparing made-to-order omelettes, while a delightful spread of French breads and pastries is set in the middle of the room. After we were done enjoying our poolside meal, we headed straight for the hotel beach!
The “private” beach sits in a small alcove between an embankment of rocks and the hotel property. We grabbed two lounge chairs and relaxed for the day, watching the sea lap to the shore in small, calm waves. A beach snack hut serves yummy pizza from 10 AM - 4 PM daily, so we didn’t have to wander far for lunch. It was a beautiful and fun way to end our vacation in Guadeloupe.
Between the accommodations, staff and amenities, there is no wonder why La Creole Beach and Spa is a 4-star hotel. We would highly recommend it to any traveler looking for a comfortable and contemporary place to stay in Guadeloupe!
