  • Bahamian Conch Salad Recipe

    A quintessential dish in the Bahamas, conch salad is a local island delicacy that is a true treasure. If you’re lucky to find yourself in the Bahamas, this is a perfect way to taste true Bahamian culture. Not in the Bahamas and still want a taste of this fresh,citrusy Caribbean dish? We’ve got your taste buds covered with this delicious, yet simple recipe.


    • ½ pound of conch (substitute with lobster or shrimp if conch is unavailable)
    • Juice of 1 orange
    • Juice of 2 limes
    • 2 ripe tomatoes, seeded and diced
    • ¼ cup diced white onion
    • 1 peeled cucumber, seeded and diced
    • ½ cup green peppers, diced
    • 1 scotch bonnet pepper, finely chopped
    • Salt and pepper to taste


    1.  Wash conch using salt and water.

    2. Combine all ingredients into a mixing bowl using your hands.

    3. Drizzle additional lime juice on top and serve!

    Yields: 2-3 servings
