Flag, Coat of Arms, and Tourist Board

The vibrant culture and friendly atmosphere on the island of Barbados gives their motto, “Long Live Life,” true meaning. Barbados is not a Caribbean island where tourists have to spend all of their time in a resort. In fact, vacationers are encouraged to go out and interact with the locals who have mastered the art of celebrating life and experience a culture passionate in spirit.

Barbados is the easternmost island in the Caribbean and lies outside of the hurricane belt. Because of its location, Barbados remains greatly unaffected by adverse weather. With an average daily temperature of 86ºF, it’s hard to imagine a vacation destination with a more perfect climate.

The contrasting coastlines of Barbados offer visitors a multitude of experiences and opportunities for soft adventure. While resorts and nightlife prevail on the western, Caribbean coast of the island, the eastern, Atlantic coast remains unspoiled in its natural beauty. The east coast is a surfer’s paradise, and features the renowned Crane Beach, recently named one of the top 10 beaches in the world. All beaches on the island are free and open to the public, allowing guests to come and go as they please.

With more restaurants per square mile than any other Caribbean destination, it is no wonder that Barbados is the only Zagat rated Caribbean island. Full of culinary adventures and local flavors, like fish fries and rum shops, Barbados is truly the dining capital of the Caribbean.

In addition to dining options, the attractions and adventures that the island offer are endless. Whether it be going on an island safari, visiting the George Washington house or snorkeling reef protected waters, there is an activity for every type of traveler. Barbados is a place where you come as a visitor and leave as a friend.
